There are numerous skin disorders that occur in athletes. These include infections, mechanical injury, and inflammatory skin diseases. Those in sports medicine should be familiar with these skin conditions to ensure timely and accurate diagnosis and management of affected athletes.

Dr. Kristina Wilson is a pediatric and adolescent fellowship trained sports medicine physician.
