Program Overview:

Our Veterans Transportation Assistance Program (V-TAP) was launched in July 2015 by MORE Foundation in partnership with Quality Transportation Services of Arizona, Since then, the program has provided more than 1,000 transports to Veterans and family members who needed to get to and from medical care.

Purpose

MORE Foundation believes that routine medical care and proper follow up after a major medical event, such as an accident or surgery, is critical to Keeping Life in Motion!®. Veterans often have difficulties getting to and from their medical appointments due to disabilities that may be related to aging or injuries sustained during combat. Therefore, MORE Foundation created a program to ensure that no veteran missed a medical appointment.

Who We Serve

Many of the veterans who utilize these services are disabled, confined to wheelchairs, confined to gurneys, and utilize oxygen therapy – all of which make it incredibly difficult to use traditional forms of transportation. V-TAP helps these military veterans, who can’t simply get into a taxi or other ride share service, get to medical appointments with free transportation. In addition to transporting veterans to medical appointments, our supporters have facilitated veterans and their spouses; in getting to and from hospice, a blind veteran in picking up his prescriptions from the pharmacy, and a homeless veteran in getting to and from a housing services program.

How It Works

Quality Transportation Services of Arizona (QTS) has a reputation for providing timely and professional medical transportation services utilizing courteous and caring drivers. They have the capabilities to manage the with complex transportation needs of an infirm veteran. QTS provides their services at a deeply discounted rate directly to MORE Foundation, so veterans that use the service do not have to come out of pocket to pay for their ride. MORE Foundation raises money through charitable donations, primarily from the generous staff of The CORE Institute, and reimburses QTS for the discounted services they provide to veterans.
