Return to Sports during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Sports Medicine Advisory Committee Recommendations
The COVID-19 pandemic has placed challenges on high school student athletes. Currently, there is a paucity of high level data to guide return to play for high school athletes with COVID-19 infections or who are presumed to have an infection with COVID-19. The Arizona Interscholastic Association in cooperation with Phoenix Children’s Cardiology have developed a return to play pathway based on best practices regarding what is currently known about COVID-19 infections in youth athletes. There are currently many different ideas of how to safely return athletes back to sport after COVID-19 infection. The Arizona Interscholastic Association’s Sports Medicine Advisory Committee in collaboration with Phoenix Children’s Cardiology, The CORE Orthopedics, and MORE Foundation invite you to a CME/CE event to provide education regarding current best practice recommendations for return to play for student athletes in Arizona after COVID-19.
