Joe La Rue is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Sun Health, a local nonprofit organization that empowers people to enjoy living longer, healthier, more purposeful lives. In July 2018, Mr. La Rue was appointed as Sun Health’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Previously, Mr. La Rue served as Executive Vice President at Sun Health. During his tenure, he was responsible for managing the real estate portfolio for Sun Health, including, overall campus master planning and development. This included managing the development of Sun Health’s three Continuing Care Retirement Communities in Northwest Phoenix.
Prior to joining Sun Health in 2005, Mr. La Rue was an attorney practicing in the Sun Cities area for 16 years, with an emphasis in real estate finance and development. After receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business in 1985, Mr. La Rue earned his Juris Doctorate from the Arizona State University College in Law in 1988.
Past civic involvement includes serving as the State Transportation Board to represent Maricopa County from 2012-2018. He is a former member of the Maricopa County Transportation Advisory Board, representing Supervisory District 4. Mr. La Rue is a past member of the WESTMARC Board Directors. In addition, Mr. La Rue served a four-year term on the Peoria City Council from 1997-2001.
